Alienated |Performance Art| is an upcoming dance company in Tilburg. We are looking for 1 male performer for our new creation Gamechanger in 2027. Gamechanger is a piece about refinding the playfulness in our rigid and profit based world. In this piece you will be working with two large referee chairs. We look for people with a specific length to fit the chairs and the work.

Who can apply?
– Professional dancers and circus artists
– Dance students who are in their internship year in 2026- 2027
We are looking for a male movers who:
– Have advanced skills in Partnering and Floorwork
– Are based in the Netherlands or Belgium
– Max 1.80m (because of the visual impact next to the chairs)
– Not afraid of heights
– Has an open presence and a playfull performance and working energy
We offer:
– Payment is based on the Dutch Collective Labor Agreement Theatre and Dance (CAO Toneel & Dans)
– An open creation process where you can contribute
– Aiming for at least 10 performances
– A very open and welcoming team at Alienated with good working conditions
Extra practicalities:
– Dancers have to be based in The Netherlands or Belgium during the project.
Only travel costs within The Netherlands and Belgium are covered for rehearsals and performances.
– Alienated cannot provide housing during the project and cannot cover visa costs or travel costs from outside of The Netherlands.
– The second round consists of 2-3 research days, where we give time and space to work with the objects. These will take place between 3 and 7 August and will be planned with the performers.
– For this piece, we are looking for a specific type of dancer to fit the performance and vision of the piece. Therefore, typecasting plays a significant role in our decision.
– For this project we are currently waiting for funding results, depending on those outcomes we can finalize schedules.
Availability:
Note that this is not a fulltime opportunity. We are currently awaiting funding results; final schedules depend on these outcomes.
